Nerve pressure: I would like to know if the numbness is on one side of the toe or the other.  It is over the top or tip of your toe?  More than likely it is pressure on the nerves that run up the side of your toe from the other toe.
Try separating the two toes with something soft like a cotton ball and see if the numbness resolves.
If the toe is red or swollen have it checked out ny a Podiatrist.

Yes: 4th toes don't get bunions. 4th toes are commonly numb as the result of a neuroma. Possibly you meant hammered. Toes usually become flexed at the joint which becomes prominent. This is called a hammertoe.

i have a small patch of skin on the top of my foot on my fourth toe that is numb when i touch it but looks normal and there are no problems with moving the toe and the underside of the toe isn't numb either. why could this be?

: It is possible it might be some scar tissue but the numb aspect of it suggests some form of nerve involvement. Might be a good idea to see the Skin Doctor (Dermatologist) first and then move on from there until the issue is resolved.

i have 2 issues with my left foot. the first is a sharp pain on the pad of my foot between the 3rd and 4th toe. the second is a pain/feathering(?) between my big and second toe when i lift the second toe, this is also numb between the base of both?

: Pain in the foot can be caused by injury (if you experienced a traumatic blow or pressure), muscular (if you overexerted by exercise or long standing), and tendon (if there was a stretching or movement that might have damaged tendons or ligaments). Your best option is to have the foot examined to make sure there is nothing going on that needs treatment. It may get worse if left untreated.

Could be : the nerves that go to those areas originate in the lower back. It is a bit odd that it is on both legs and in different dermatomes but injuring two parts of your lower back would explain that.

i stubbed my 4th toe 8 hours ago and the pain is no better. i can't bend it or walk on it,  it's turning black and is swollen. should i get it checked?

Yes: If you injured your foot/toe 8hrs ago and still can't walk on it as it turns black &amp; swells up, then yes, you should get it checked out. In the meantime, apply ice in an attempt to keep swelling down and minimize inflammation.

i hurt my 4th toe at the end of january doing a dance kick. i ended up kicking the edge of the wooden door frame really hard. what should i do?

Toe: This happened almost 8 months ago. If you have no symptoms then do nothing. If you have symptoms - depending on what they are I would suggest an X-Ray firt.
