Cold - Four Months? : A typical cold would not last 4 months.

You need to see an otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat physician) for a complete evaluation and treatment.

Black Tongue: Black tongue can be an overgrowth of the little hairy papillae on the tongue and isn't harmful. You can scrub the spot with a soft baby toothbrush twice daily & it should go away. (also, think if you have given anything that could stain the tongue--iron drops, pepto bismal, metal teether).

is pigmentation in baby's eyes normal? there's black spot in my friend's baby eyes. and he had bad diarhea. could it be because of herpes?

Freckle: A freckle on the white of the eye of a baby is almost always benign . An ophthalmologist can evaluate any that are growing.

i noticed a firm, purple/blue lump on my leg, about four inches below my right knee about six weeks ago.  no pain, but some itching surrounding it.  has grown larger, and there is a black spot in the center. two more lumps have formed around it?

Accepted Answer

: Insect bite?  Contact dermatitis?  Toxicodendron dermatitis (eg., poison ivy)?  Impossible to tell without seeing.  Check with physical or virtual doc

i have frequent pvcs and different space between beats i have been passing out and coming to trying to catch my breath. all four valves are mild regurgitation the dr heard a new murmur also a black spot in middle of heart. what could be causing this?

: It is not clear whether the arrhythmias that you are describing would be the cause of your blackouts. We would need to see the actual studies to help determine this. You may need a 24 hour Holter monitor or other tests. You should see a cardiologist for the next steps in your evaluation. Good luck.

Birthmark: It might be a birthmark , just on a delicate part of your body. See a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist / cosmetologist . They can help you out

dermatologist says my infant son has developed a congenital nevus (specifically a cafe au lait spot) on his face within past few weeks. how likely will this turn into a huge, black, hairy mole? nervous! :-(

Probably low: The cafe au last probably will not become a hairy nevus but should keep an eye out for any new cafe lesions.

Good news is they are laser able however the return frequency is high. If you go that route make sure to go to a dermatologist that performs a lot of these type treatments and start on a small area and wait 6 weeks to see if the spot lightens or darkens.

Abscess : Apply warm compresses regularly throughout the day. Let a doctor know if pain gets worse or if you have fevers. If there is redness around the site and it starts to spread, you need to be evaluated quickly.   Don't try to cut it but if it starts to drain, ok to gently squeeze with a warm compress.

See the surgeon: It is hard to diagnose or make any comment without seeing the lesion. It is best to have an oral surgeon look at it and if necessary make a biopsy so you don't worry about it.

If you push on them you can express the small amount of white material, but you might cause a local infection.  The best way to have blackheads removed is by having a professional facial with a licensed aesthetician or see a physician to remove these under sterile conditions to prevent infection
