is using tylenol (acetaminophen) okay for a 4 month old teething baby? i have tried every other remedy that doesn't included medication. nothing has worked.

Maybe: Teething is a natural process and should not be medicated.  When  baby does start teething it is best to give teething chew toys.  We  don't reccommend  orajel as there are serious complications that can arise as a side effect to that medication.  If you do use tylenol (acetaminophen) follow the dosing guide and only if u r 100% sure nothing else is wrong.

Salivary glands : start functioning around 4 months, causing drooling. Some infants teethe that early, but the central lower incisors usually emerge around 6 months.Wipe out his mouth after the last feed before you put him in his crib when he&#x27;s drowsy, but awake, to fall asleep, so he&#x27;s used to it when his teeth do emerge. Red cheeks, fever, diarrhea &amp; &quot;colds&quot; are not related to teething.

Pain control: The best advice is to be proactive- commence the panado on a 4 to 6 hourly basis. It will settle once the teeth break through

Yes: You can give both.

No: There have been some reports of an association between teething and low-grade fevers. If there is any association with runny nose and coughing, I am not aware of it. Certainly it wouldn't be associated with severe coughing.

i read that teething gels from an early age is not good, he is only 4 months after all. please advise?

May  be teething: Although a bit early, not unheard of.  A chilled teething ring is the best "soother."  It may actually be months until the 1st tooth erupts.  Once it does, but no later than 1st b'day, your child should be examined by a General Dentist or preferably a specialist Pediatric Dentist, a Pedodontist.

my 4 month old spits up a lot and poops 4x a day. his temp is 98.2 f but his head feels hot. this started 4 days ago. formula fed. maybe teething?

Is this a change: A lot of 4mo spit a lot & many poop that often. Babies lose a lot of body heat from their head so a warm head isn't particularly worrisome.Having a normal temperature is good, but doesn't rule out the early stage of a new illness. If this is a change in your babies pattern it points to some form of stress & may take a little longer to show clear signs.
