how do i treat hives from tegaderm picc dressing?

Rash?: I suspect that your problem is more a contact allergy rash to the glue in the tape than really hives (which are raised welts). You cannot stop the rash as long as you are using the tape.  However if you are no longer using it, then topical Hydrocortisone cream several times a day may control it.

i have an allergy (red itchy papular rash) to tapes incl medi/micro/trans-pore tapes; worse w/ tegaderm.  an alternative option 2 be able 2 secure iv?

Hypoallergenic tape: There are tapes which are less likely to cause a contact allergy. Just ask for them.   Do note the "less likely" description. Another approach would be to apply a cortisone cream at the site first then apply the tape  an hour later after the cream has dried up and the cortisone has a chance to bind to the skin cells.

i have a superficial 2nd degree burn 5 dys ago can i use tegaderm and swim safely? should i put any cream under the tegaderm?thanks

Need details: Tegaderm is excellent for burns. No, you need no cream under it. How large a burn? Where? Thermal? Swim where? Pool? Sea? River? Water is good for a burn, but generally you should wait until it is healed. Shower or bath better than swim.

i had to use a tegaderm on a cut on sons stomach. it's been week since i've taken it off. there's still a small red rash where it was. how do i treat?

Red rash : After a cut on the stomach may not be as critical as one on the face. Would let time take care of it unless, it is turning into an ugly scar, then you would need a plastic surgeon to help.

my 3 yo has a cut right at pant line that wont heal b/c the scab keeps getting torn off. b/c of location band aid or tegaderm won't stick. ideas?

Liquid bandage: Try using the liquid bandage available at most drug stores, and then putting some antibacterial ointment over the area daily - pant will get a little greasy but friction will be reduced!

my son has severe cystic acne on his back & now looks like flesh popped out of a burst one. weve put tegaderm to cover it but cant get into doctor

Acne : Try warm compress and a topical antibiotic and lease be sure to get him examined soon

Do not recommend : That. First off any burn would burn more in salt....SSD cream is very good for burns. 
Burn wounds can be dangerous. Must keep a close eye for infection. Tetanus history should be evaluated as well.

i have a red splotchy kind of rash over n around the sight of a tegaderm bandage for a rib tattoo. doesn't itch but i also have nasal congestion like an allergic reaction that benadryl helped. no swelling/hives. should i be concerned? home treatment?

: People can develop allergies to the adhesive used in bandages or from the ink used in tattoos.  Both are possibilities given the symptoms you describe.  You could start with removing the bandage, cleaning the wound and applying a cortisone topical cream.

i was travelling on a motorbike to office and i noticed the guy had bruises and wounds. the was no accident. but i have a small wound which is healing on my hands so am abit worried.  is there any chance of getting hiv?

Little or no risk: Exposure to blood following an accident is theoretically a risk for HIV or other blood borne viruses. However, in the 4 decades of the world-wide HIV epidemic, there have been no reported cases of this actsually happening. If you cared for an injured person and got blood all over yourself, it's a good idea to be tested. Otherwise no worries.

are there any tricks for making an iv stick easier on me?

Breathing: Try breathing in slowly through the nostrils. Taking a deep breath and holding the air in your lungs for a five count. Then slowly exhale through an open mouth. Repeat x 12 or more.   Good luck.
