Go to L;D: You should be seen at l;d to rule out labor and check the status of your baby if you are experiencing regular contractions, sharp abdominal pain, bleeding, leakage of fluid, or decreased fetal movement.

38 weeks 2days pregnant, my dr said cervix is not opened yet.what i can do for that at my side.i want to deliver vaginally.pls advice?

Patience: You will deliver your baby in a couple of weeks.  You are not due yet. There is nothing for you to do to speed this up.  If you want to deliver naturally then you must be patient to let nature take its course.

Could be: At the end of pregnancy typically patients are seen weekly. Often the doctor will perform a cervical examination to determine the current status. At your next visit ask your doctor to check your cervix. This is very normal and I am sure they will be happy to do this for you.

would a d&c be performed if a mother is miscarrying at 37/38 weeks pregnancy? and if so, how soon before the patient is discharged?

Term pregnancy: At that point, the pregnancy is full term and will be "stillborn."  A sad situation and I feel for her.
She will likely have her labor induced and deliver vaginally if possible.  The length of stay in the hospital will be similar to one for a regular birth.  This assumes the mother doesn't have a complication such as an infection.

what is the normal level of pcv at 38 weeks pregnancy?

Not relevant: When we are checking blood counts during pregnancy, assuming that the basic counts related to hemoglobin, hematocrit and platelets are normal for pregnancy, then we really do not spend too much time looking at these individual parameters related to red blood cells.  If there is a more specific problem being asked, please ask!

Still some time : With your first pregnancy, it is quite likely that you will carry to 40 wks or even later. 1 cm dilated means you've made some progress and your cervix is starting to soften, but the process to go into active labor can still be weeks away. Call your provider if you have contractions every 5 minutes for an hour long, or any bleeding, or decreased fetal movement. Congrats on your upcoming arrival!

Could be: One can not predict when the cervix will open in any individual pregnancy. Your doctor will need to check your cervix during the physical exam to determine the current status.

Can be normal: This could be completely normal during end of pregnancy. If no pain, fever or smell to discharge likely all is completely normal!

May be: You are near term with a risk of bleeding. I would recommend holding off on sexual activity till after delivery.

is it psbl to have labour pains n amniotic fluid leakage n still cervix is not dilated..38 weeks pregnant?

Accepted Answer

Yes: "False Labor" pains not strong enough to cause  cervical dilation can go on for weeks before real labor begins.  That doesn't mean it doesn't hurt!  However, if you are leaking amniotic fluid, you should be delivered right away.  Your doctor can do an exam to see if you are really leaking amniotic fluid or if it is something else like urine or a heavy vaginal discharge.  Best wishes!
