i'm 37 weeks and had my appointment today. doctor says she can feel my babies head and i'm 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. lots of contractions too. ?

You are 37 weeks: Since you are 37 weeks and getting closed to your due date then it is clear that you are going to deliver within the next 3-4 weeks. Being 3 cm is a good sign that delivery may come sooner. Other than that there is no way to know.

i don't discharge often but lately when i hit 35 weeks i discharge at least once a week. does my discharge indicate that i'm dilating because i am 37 weeks now and 2 1/2 cm dilated?

Dilation v infection: Some vaginal discharge is normal in pregnancy due to hormonal changes. As you get closer to delivery a mucous discharge comes too called your mucous plus. Infections such as yeast, bacterial vaginosis and stds are also possibilities. Next step is an exam with your doctor.

i'm 37 weeks today and i'm dilated 2-3 cm. should my doctor induce me already?

Actually not needed: For someone who is multi-gravida ("mommy of 3"), you can go from 2-3 cm to fully dilated in a matter of hours, so i would just be patient.  As long as the baby is safe and good heart tones and the stress test is normal, just sit back and let nature take its course at 37 weeks.....

Very variable: Some patients will go into labor in a few hours, others may not start labor more than a few days. If your contractions start getting closer (every 4-5 minutes), or you start leaking fluid call your doctor. You may spot , but heavier bleeding should also prompt a call.

Late pregnancy: As the baby descends and gets larger, pushing on the bowel, you will have the urge to defecate more, but it is not a sign of labor exactly.

You are pregnant: Depends on  what you mean  by  sick.  Many women at  term  are tired  and   achy   this is  common.   It you have  headache,  visual  problems,  swelling  in legs  and  feet  or  severe abdominal  pain,  call your  md.  These are symptoms  of preeclapmsia.

Any day now: These are all good signs that you are getting close to labor. Your body is preparing and you could go into labor at any time. Congratulations.
