i haven't suffered from an epileptic fit in nearly 9 and a half years. does this mean i've been cured of epilepsy?

Possibly: Some people with epilepsy may have no symptoms for years.  It is hard to say if they are cured or not.  If you are still taking medicine, you could not say you are cured.  If your EEG is abnormal, you could not say you are cured.  Even if you have a normal EEG and do not take medicine to prevent seizures, there is still a chance of recurrence.  But the chance is much less in this case, typically.

can you wake up one day with epilepsy?

Yes: Epilepsy can occur literally "out of the blue", and may be difficult to relate to any past events.  Some get risk when lack of sleep, stress, poor diet, use of alcohol, illegal drugs.  Maybe a long forgotten head injury, a prior viral meningitis which was too mild to pickup, a problem as a baby or toddler.  Get a full evaluation from an epileptologist, as maybe there is a clue somewhere.

can epilepsy cause someone to withdraw from intimate contact with a loved one?

Maybe: The answer isn't simple. No specific type of epilepsy has a specific symptom as withdrawal from intimacy. But medications used in treatment may cause emotional blunting and decreased responsivity. Post-ictal, ie post-convulsive emotional changes, usually relatively brief, may produce the same effect.

why would someone get an epilepsy every three weeks or so? does it accumulate? sometimes i get it once in two successive days. how so?

See a neurologist.: There are many causes of seizure disorders. If you already know that you have a brain tumor, then that's certainly the most likely cause in your case. Talk to a neurologist about medications to help reduce the frequency of your seizures.

if you are going to have epilepsy is it usually spotted before your 30's had 2 in my teens andn ow everyday i worry i am gonna have one again l?

Getting closer: Epilepsy can begin at any age, mostly in early life & again late in life. 2 seizures which are unprovoked occurring on 2 separate days is epilepsy. However cases of epilepsy in teens can disappear, even without treatment. If you are worried, see a neurologist, have an eeg, and a good discussion afterwards.

i had three seizures with a 1 to 2 years interval between each. i am not on any medication and i have no family members with epilepsy. can you have epilepsy even with rarely having seizures even without medication?

: What you described is epilepsy. It would be prudent to consult a neurologist for evaluation and treatment. I trust that you are not driving or operating heavy machinery.

Epilepsy in Families: There are many causes of epilepsy.  Sometimes epilepsy runs strong in a family, sometimes it appears not to run in a family at all.  There are a few cases where you might expect about 50% of kids of a mother with epilepsy to inherit the condition, most cases though there would be a risk of 25% or less.  It depends on the cause of the epilepsy.  There are dozens of different causes.

i had epilepsy 3 years before i've stopped eating medicines still i didn't get any sign of epilepsy but i'm facing depression and insomnia and lot of headache should i start eating medicines or i'm fit?

Time to see doc: You need help for 2 reasons.
1. Your current symptoms- depression, insomnia and headaches that need to be addressed timely in order for you to remain functional
2. Lack of sleep will make you prone to a seizure as it will decrease significantly your seizure threshold.
Start with your pediatrician or GP who knows your medical history best.

i have recurrent spells but done 3 controlled eegs all normal? one provoked normal  too.

fully functional can perform 100% during spell maybe anxiety or no indicative of epilepsy??

Déjà vu: I understand your distress due to recurrent spells.
Based upon 3 Normal EEG, absence of neurological symptoms, “Fully Functional”, it is likely that you do not have Epilepsy.
At age of 20, you possibly are going through stresses of relationships, separation, break ups, work and finances causing anxiety with Déjà vu.
See a Neurologist for Diagnosis
After that have Therapy for stresses in your life

what are the chances of having simple partial epilepsy with 3 normal routine eeg? percentage wise?

doc said if i want do a 24 hour eeg but seeking other opinion.

3 negative routine eeg all with deep breathing, one with flashing lights all 20 min?

Paroxysmal disorder : A standard EEG will often miss sporadic epileptic events due to lack of temporal correlation.  Ambulatory EEG’s at 72-96 hrs are far more precise and accurate.
