High Cortisol: A 24 hour urine cortisol above 50 mcg is abnormal, level of 125 is definitely high and requires further endocrine evaluation. urine serotonin is not reliable, measuring a serotonin metabolite called 5 hydroxyl indole acetic acid (  5 HIAA) is more reliable. one week prior to the 24 hr urine collection for 5 HIAA there is a long list of food &amp; medications that need to be avoided for accurate result

Need more info: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that,  188mg/24 hours of what? Is it glucose or a reducing substance. What was tested for and how was the test done. You may wish to discuss getting a glucose tolerance test with your doctor.

For what?: What is your doctor testing with the 24 hr collection of urine? Creatinine clearance, cortisol, calcium, cathecolamines, protein, cortisol or steroids? Depending upon the answer there are some medications or drugs that may interfere specifically.

Further testing: The 24 hr urine is a screening test, and if abnormal, may require more detailed blood testing, or even referral to an endocrinologist.  This raises the question of a possible adrenal gland abnormality, but epinephrine levels may be elevated just in response to stress.
