Good question!: THERE IS NO SUCH THING as the "infamous" 24 Hour Flu (Used to be called 24 hour "grip" due to muscle pain which accompanied it) Probably arose because the WORSE symptoms are usually in the first day or two! The term also was mistaken for FOOD POISONING which generally produces symptoms which are worse in the first 24 hours!

Yes, possible...: This could occur however with recurrent symptoms I may begin to question the original diagnosis, especially if there are any new or different symptoms.  Drink plenty of water, eat a bland diet, consider crystalized ginger for nausea.  If there are new or worsening symptoms you should be reevaluated.

Why?: i think that it is safe but ask your pharmacist first. But dayquil has no antihistamines so you do not get drowsy. Claritin (loratadine) in spite of what the package says can cause drowsiness in some people. Figure what you want to use it for and act.

Probably not: There are no guarantees, since we don't know the exact cause her illness. But most gastrointestinal viral infections are not transmissible more than a few days after recovery. If she has felt well for 5 days or more, you're probably home free at this time.

: Flonase is a steroid nasal spray that will treat nasal inflammation and this would not interfere with the ingredients in NyQuil. So, it is ok to take these 2 medicines 4 hours apart. Good luck!

Likely dehydration: Likely dehydration contributing. Would suggest hydration, either by mouth or IV if unable to keep fluids down. If cardiac history as suggested by procedures, time for a visit to ER.

Sinus rinse: A sinus irrigation kit would really help you. Just follow directions. Avail at most pharmacy sections of stores. I use squeeze bottle vs. netti pot.
