Tylenol is safe: It is safe to give your child tylenol in the dosage shown on the container.  It is also safe to mix with benadryl.  On the other hand, aspirin might increase the risk of Reye's syndrome if s/he has influenza or similar condition.

If you need some help managing the child and want some suggestions on how to train children to sleep then a good guidebook is a smart investment or discussing this with your child's pediatrician may be the next step.

If  your child still suffers from the disease after taking otc meds, you might want to bring him or her to see an allergist.
