More info needed: Temps are porous and usually absorb stains from coffee, smoking, and certain foods. Depending on what you eat or drink or if you smoke will determine how prisine your temporaries remain.

Call your dentist: Sounds like you need to keep firmer pressure with gauze on the extraction site to stop the bleeding. If you don't have any more gauze right now, you can use pieces of folded up paper towel. Get more gauze from your dentist. As for the pain, your dentist should be able to call in a prescription for a pain med.

Get a check-up : What you need is a thorough dental exam.  Seek out a reputable dentist, preferably referred to you by someone you know. Let the dentist know your financial situation. Most likely, he or she will be able to work with you and help you in preventing further tooth loss.

Tooth: I would take one and see my dentist asap. Percocet and drugs like Percocet only work for a short time;you build up resistance to the drug. See your dentist or seek treatment at an er or dental school.

Depends : Soreness can be caused by many things from grinding &amp; trauma from eating to tissue issues from lack of proper cleaning &amp; low grade infections.  I would have it evaluated if you are still concerned &amp; if it does not subside after proper floss/brushing if area.  Take 600mg ibuprofen every 6hrs for 24hrs (depending on med history &amp; allergies) to see if it helps too.

Any pain?: If there is no pain then you could be ok. Monitor the wound. Make sure closure is happening. Call your surgeon for his advise. Make sure you return for a post op visit to his office to be sure.

Exposed roots: Did you have a lot of plaque and/or calculus removed?  I have seen this in people who have this layer removed and then it was sensitive.  A prescription Fluoride or sensitive toothpaste might help.

RCT or debridement: If it is an endo abscess (nerve hurts), root canal must be performed on the tooth.  If it is a periodontal abscess, good scaling and root planing (debridement) should be done.  Eliminate the cause of abscess (poor occlusion, eliminate area of food impaction).  Even though it usually isnot dangerous, abscess could be painful and should be treated asap to avoid damage to surrounding bone.
