Weight loss: Eat healthfully. Try to eat at least 5 servings of vegetables &amp; 4 of fruit per day. Increase nutritional fiber. Avoid refined sugar &amp; junk carbohydrates.  Avoid alcohol, sweetened juices, soda &amp; caffeinated beverages.  Aim for 7.5 to 8 hrs of sleep / night. Hydrate w at least 64 oz of water / day. Calories burned must &gt; calories consumed.  Do both cardio &amp; weight training.

hi, i have been noticing that i am bruisibg easily and that olde bruises that were almost gone turn purple again after i have excercized. i have lost 10kgs on a diet in the last 12 weeks, with a diet. should i be worried?

Stool softener: Stool softeners (eg colace) are meds that can help with constipation and are safe to take in pregnancy. That may help your symptoms

glucose screening test for pregnancy coming up. will my relatively low carb diet (eating mainly whole grains) make me fail the test? do i need to carb load b4 the tests (both the 1hr and 3hr one). my a1c levels were 5.2 in 1st trimester. very nervous?

: It is not failing or passing the test. Stay on your usual diet and do not stress out about this matter. With and A1c of 5.2 you are unlikely to have an abnormal test result.

Pregnancy showing: it has to do with your body type, how you carry the baby, and wether you are short or long waisted.  Before you are done with this pregnancy you will definitely be shoeing that you are pregnant ant likely wishing you were still in today's stage.  Keep smiling! ☺️

how long until my fibula is fully healed? i broke it in 2 places on distal fibula...shape of "w" and "l" breaks. i was on crutches for 12 weeks and started walking with boot for last 2 weeks. is this normal?

: At 3.5 months post fracture increased exercise should be appropriate . I say should , if fracture was not displaced  and fracture lines were within close Approximation   After 3.5 months is more than enough time. X-ray only definitive method

First : First trimester ultrasounds are accurate to within a few days. They are more accurate than an estimate based on your last period, especially if you aren't sure when that period was.

i am pregnant (1st trimester), have not been properly diagnosed. but do have some med training. best i can figure i suffer from an advanced stage (4) of fibro myalgia. i do not wish to take pharmaceutical drugs. how should i be treated?

: Make certain you blood potassium is normal. Patients with this due to primary aldosteronism and low K are often miss- diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Discuss with your Dr. Can also have high blood pressure problems during preg.  Discuss.

Nurse,pump, exercise: Human breast milk has a high % fat, so nursing is like a small, daily liposuction. Don't take your diet down to unsafe levels. Exercise more, and nurse more.  If your baby is full, and you desire to express more milk, you can use a breast pump. Get enough rest. Expect to be tired. As long as you are patient, you will see good results.I have had several patients go through the same experience.
