Consider rest, fluids and steamy baths to soak in. Follow up with your doc if worsens/persists.

Rash: Rashes are very common in this age group. If it's dry, you can use moisturizer after his bath. If there is no itching, and he seems otherwise comfortable, you don't have to do anything. If it persists or worsens, you can have your pediatrician take a look at it.
