Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an energy-based therapy that is proposed to work through electromagnetic induction, which modifies neuroexcitability. It has been used in patients with autism spectrum disorders, depression, epilepsy, and Tourette syndrome. Its use remains controversial.
