For depression: TMS is a treatment for depression. It is very well tolerated and may work when medications do not. In one study, about 60% get better w/ the treatment and about 40% have no symptoms of depression after the treatment. It works by stimulating a part brain which modulates mood, called the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. It is beginning to be covered by more insurances. I highly recommend it.
