Holding objects closer to read

I got an allergic reaction after waxing my brows red with heats and my whole face swollen r the readness and heats goin to leave marks on my face?

Is age 3 a good age to teach a child to learn to read? I tried to teach this child to learn the names of the letters. But she seem not to remember or learn although she knows names of colors and house hold objects.
