What is the difference between dermatome and the center of the tendon jerk?

If a nerve is pinched can skin of the dermatome shed off? or be dry? or scablike only following the dermatome?

What is the difference between dermatome and peripheral nerve innervations? Which of them carry pain and temperature sensations?

What is a dermatome? Saw a chart at a doctor's office showing different dermatome's on a patient.

2/12 ago fractured transverse process of L1,2,3 with the that of L2 being shattered still having sharp pain at L2 dermatome. How long to settle?
