Goodpasture syndrome
Goodpasture's syndrome occurs when the body encounters a foreign antigen which leads to the abnormal creation of self attacking antibodies to the basement membrane of the kidneys and the pulmonary air sacs. The kidney cells underattack lead to microscopic blood in the urine. Antibodies may also attack lung cells causing dry cough and minor breathlessness.
