Heart contusion
A heart contusion is a bruising of the muscle tissue of the heart. It is most commonly caused by the heart hitting the rib cage during trauma, such as in a fall or a car accident where the chest hits the steering wheel. Patients typically have chest pain that is made worse by leaning forward or bending over.
