Cushing disease
Cushing disease is excessive cortisol production due to an acth secreting pituitary adenoma. Acth stimulates the adrenals to produce excessive cortisol, leading to central obesity, lack of growth in children, high blood pressure, hyperglycemia, muscle weakness and skin fragility. It can also cause low bone density.
