Adrenal excess: Cushing's disease is an over production of adrenal gland hormones that are normally very well regulated in the body. When someone develops a growth in the adrenal gland that is not responsive to the normal feedback regulation these excess levels will lead to elevated blood sugar, excess fat deposits on the back, called a "buffalo hump" and fat chipmunk like cheeks. It requires expert medical care.
