Depends on where this diagnosis was made. Is a non-invasive disease. Ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast is treated with lumpectomy and sometimes hormone therapy & radiation. Lobular carcinoma in situ of breast is treated as a benign pre-cancerous lesion. Cancer in situ of the colon treated as an early cancer with surgery. Gynecologist can answer this for a cervix lesion.
