Vaginal swab culture positive for group B strep
Group b strep (gbs) is one of many bacteria that live on most people's body. When it lives on or around the vaginal area, a newborn baby has a higher risk of getting in or on the body. Unfortunately, gbs can be deadly to a newborn. Please talk to your doctor about what you can do to reduce this risk.
