Cervix slightly thinned
Cervix slightly thinned is the normal condition during labor in which a woman's cervix has thinned a little bit. Before the start of labor, the cervix has some length to it (about 1 inch long, from the vagina side of the cervix to the uterus side of the cervix). As labor progresses, the pressing from the baby flattens out the cervix so that it gets shorter and shorter ("thinner"). Eventually it is fully thinned and fully dilated, and the baby can move through the cervix and go into the vagina.
