3wks ago ri hosp - 1 cm dilated -soft, thin cervix. ob sent me ma hosp due to cntx in office. not dilated w/cervix closed tight. why the difference?

Operator variability: Depends on who is doing the exam. The discrepancy is within the expected range. This is not an exact science. Now, if the exams were different by 3 or 4 cms., i would be concerned.
