Yes: Even a yeast infection could seem like a herpes outbreak and vice versa. The classical presentation of herpes starts as blisters on the skin. The blisters are quite painful, they eventually rupture and the base of each blister becomes and ulcer that is also exquisitely painful. The ulcers heal with no scarring and the pain resolves as they heal.
