Soft stools: Increase the fiber and fluid in your diet to soften your stools. If neccessary start on MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) a over the counter laxative. Take 1-2x/day to make sure your stools remain soft. Keep your bum clean, use moist wipes and if that isn't working try sitz baths 1-2x/day. If none of that works, a rare occurence, a visit to a surgeon might be in order.

Seek help: An anal fissure is a tear in the mucosa of the anus, which retears with each bowel movement, partially heals, then tears again. Seek help from a colorectal surgeon or experienced general surgeon. Some can be managed with topical creams but surgery could be necessary. In the meantime, keep well hydrated and eat a balanced, general diet. Good luck.
