Rectal bleed: Get evaluated. If it is still bleeding, go to the emergency room. If it stopped, make sure someone sees you next week. Benign conditions like hemorrhoid scan cause bleeding but other more serious conditions can too. A colorectal specialist (proctologist) would be a good choice.

Hemorrhoids: Unless there was a lot of pain associated with it, it was most likely a hemorrhoidal bleed. If it recurs, see your doctor to see if you need a referral to a gastroenterologist or not.
