NO!: Because the suture line at the top of the vagina needs time to heal, it is not safe to have vaginal penetration for at least 6 weeks. Intercourse at 2 weeks or less with a vaginal hysterectomy would be a really bad idea!

Not common: Very few surgeons would recommend resumption of vaginal intercourse that soon after a hysterectomy. The norm is 4 weeks and many doctors recommend 6 or 8 weeks. The risk forserious problems would be quite high by resuming sex that early.
