Is chlamydia treatment really that effective?

Yes: The currently recommended antibiotic for chlamydia is almost always successful (99%). Usually if it doesn't work, it just wasn't taken. If it was taken and the infection is still present after a couple weeks, it is a reinfection and not a treatment failure. It is imperative for all partners to be treated to prevent reinfection.
