A member asked:

Can a tampon allergy cause your vagina to swell?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Allergic reactions to tampons are often related to the fragrance in the tampon. Local swelling, itching, and redness to the vaginal skin would be a common reaction. However, infections can also cause this; thus, please see your doctor if this does not go away upon discontinuing tampon use.
