If you start a pill: Mid cycle, the next period will likely come but it's difficult to say. Ovulation occurs at around day 14. At this point your ovary is producing hormones in conjunction with the pill. It can take 3 months for the cycles to become regulated by the pill. It says you have irregular periods so you may not ovulate regularly. Don't get discouraged if it takes a while for bleeding control. Gd luck.

It may: Starting a bcp in mid cycle will "confuse" the uterus with the extra synthetic hormones being taken. This may suppress normal menstruation & often leads to irregular bleeding. In addition, pregnancy protection is not present for at least the first cycle when starting the bcp at this time in the cycle.
