Yes: Starting birth control pills prior to menarche may inhibit the completion of puberty. Menstrual periods on bcp are drug induced & not "natural". The hormones in bcp will inhibit the function & feedback between the hypothalamus, pituitary gland and ovaries. This is not a good idea. Young women need to complete puberty prior to starting bcp.
