Bloody diarrhea : Usually indicate colitis. Differential includes infectious, inflammatory (ulcerative and crohns) and ischemic. Depending on the severity of the disease they can present with ulcerations. These are diagnosed with a colonoscopy where biopsies are taken. Stool cultures are required to look for the source of infection and treatment depends on the etiology.
