I was wondering how does a person end up with an abdominal abscess? would trauma from sexual abuse be a strong factor?

Not likely: Abdominal abscess usually occurs from an appendix, a pancreatic inflammation, or more commonly from diverticulitis, and as a complication of surgery. If no cause could be found, then unusual etiologies can be pursued.
