What could cause a 42 yr old with no children to bleed bright red blood with some clotting from the vagina only during a bm.

Hemorrhoids: Probably the bleeding is not from the vagina but from nearby engorged blood vessels: hemorrhoids. I advise you visit your gyn who can examine the vagina and the annal area and confirm the diagnosis.

GYN: Likely that the bright red blood is coming from a hemmorrhoid in the back, not your vagina, but you should definitely see your gyn.
