Type specific = good: Type specific herpes tests are great at distinguishing between type 1 & 2. Rarely if someone is highly positive for type 1 w/ a very low positive for type 2, we believe it could be a false positive, even with type specific tests, which are the best tests out there to screen for herpes. If u have a genital sore, immediately see a doc for a swab which reliably distinguishes type 1&2, if positive.
