There has been little or no research to answer the first question. And yes, not all genital bumps are warts. And some experts believe that wart tissue might be replaced by scar tissue. In that case, the bump may remain but it's no longer an active wart. It't best to have them treated, which usually is effective in getting rid of warts entirely.

If this is a self-diagnosis then -pl see a Urologist for evaluation , and treatment. Genital warts may recur or go away -depending on many things like invasiveness of virus and pts immune system
