A member asked:

I have raynauds phenomenon, and in the past i had been advised to not take estrogen based birth control. i was never told what the specific risks were, if any- and i am wondering if it might still be an option for me?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Patients with Raynauds phenomenon are advised not to take any medications that constrict blood vessels and estrogens are one of them. It's stated that combining a progesterone with the estrogen obviates the vasoconstriction effect of estrogen.
