PID: While std's such as gonorrhea and chlamydia are often implicated in causing pelvic inflammatory disease, we are finding out that your normal vaginal flora may even play a role in causing pid. It is best to base empiric treatment on clinical findings such as cervical motion tenderness or adnexal tenderness.
