Most oral hormonal birth control products should be taken at around the same time each day, but usually do not require so much precision. Usually and hour or so should not be a problem. That said, no type of birth control is 100% effective. In the situation you describe, pregnancy is highly unlikely. If your period is late, check a pregnancy test.
