A member asked:

Is a pregnancy test a little over 3 weeks after sex (24 days to be exact) accurate? trying to figure out if i had implantation bleeding or a period?

The hormones created by pregnancy should turn a urine pregnancy test positive 2-3 weeks after exposure or at the point menses is delayed by pregnancy. False negatives do occur. Testing on a first morning urine is likely the most concentrated & most representative of a true test.

If you had unprotected sex during your ovulation & conceived you would have missed your next period. The best time to perform the pregnancy test is several days after the missed period. Your gynecologist can advise you further..
