A member asked:

Can i bleed like a period and still be pregnant? i took a pregnancy test 29 days after sex. it was negative. but im still worried i could be pregnant. the test should have been accurate right?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

With stress (work, emotional, school, COVID-19), delayed ovulation can delay onset of menstruation, however, if no sexual activity occurred for 29 days, while the bleeding may indicate estrogen withdrawal or delayed post ovulatory menstruation, even a "home" pregnancy test is accurate and pregnancy is unlikely. To be certain, obtain a serum HCG test.
