A member asked:

Seeing white mucus in stool 6-7 times a month is normal? not too much mucus. i take fiber supplements, ispaghol husk, laxatives to avoid constipation because i had anal fissure a few months ago?

If you have large amounts of mucus in the stool with associated diarrhea intestinal pathology, including pathological bacterial or parasitic infections, are likely. If it's only a small amount and your bowel movements are otherwise normal, nonserious causes are likely. It could even be caused by your history if anal fissure.
