I figured out i may have left a tampon in too long the other day, now my vagina smells foul not fishy but its unpleasant. im not sure if i have any infections because most of them are sexually transmitted. so what can i do about the smell?

See a GYN MD or clinic soon as bacteria can grow on the tampon that was left in too long producing an infection that you presently have now. Moreover, the MD can make sure that the vagina is empty of any residuals of the tampon and provide treatment for the infection to alleviate the odor. Toxic Shock Syndrome can lead to death if untreated in these cases.
