Improper usage: The way the hormonal oral contraceptive pill works is by modulating the levels of estrogen and progesterone so that the body won't ovulate. The uterine lining is still built up every month because of the estrogen. By taking only the hormone pills, you are not allowing your body to slough off the uterine lining. Expect a heavier period. Ask your Dr about a progesterone only pill for no periods
