A member asked:

Can urine pregnancy test show false negative result at 23weeks or after? can the decline in hcg levels cause negative result? i tested negative at 23 weeks after any sex for the 5th time. can i trust the result for being not pregnant?

Some thoughts...: Home or clinic urine pregnancy tests are very accurate. A correctly done home urine test will give a reliable result by 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after possible conception) or 1 week after missing a period. A woman can repeat the test if she did the first test too early, such as less than two weeks after conception. Tests stay positive in pregnancy and DO NOT turn negative until after delivery.
