A member asked:

When do you know you have chlamydia and/or gonorrhea? what are the symptoms and when do they show for a female? i had unprotected sex-which lasted 10secs-does this mean low risk of exposure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Basics: All it takes for an exposure is ANY contact between fluid secreting genital surfaces. Gonorrhea & chlamydia both can cause discharge & discomfort within days of exposure, but a fraction of those carrying infection will never have noticeable symptoms. You can have it & become sterile from damage before any symptoms. If you are sexually active consider testing a part of the process.
