A member asked:

How long should hpv be in the system to cause damage to cervix? can it be instant or one month?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually 3 - 5 years : of persistent infection. Co factors, would be likely to increase speed of progression, such as smoking. 15 years to early cancer if persistence, for that long.
