Need more evaluation: Each person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, then there are many treatments to try. If however, symptoms persist after clearing out all the poop, or if the poop cannot clear completely, and one's primary doctor isn't able to fix the issue, one can see a stomach specialist.

Some basics: Bloating from retained fecal matter is a chronic & often misunderstood issue. It can start in infancy and cause ballooning of the large intestines to 2-3X the normal size. People can/do continue to stool past what amounts to leftover fecal matter. Fixing the problem can require an initial clean out & take a year or more of continuous treatment. Find a GI doc & get started. This is not that rare.
